Jeff Judkins Wins 400th Game As BYU Women’s Basketball Head Coach

MALIBU, Calif. – BYU women’s basketball head coach Jeff Judkins collected his 400th career victory leading the Cougars with a win over the Pepperdine Waves.
Judkins and the Cougars defeated the Waves at Firestone Fieldstone on Monday, December 30.
The head coach reached the milestone victory with a 65-47 win over Pepperdine.
“What this milestone means to me is that I’ve been lucky to have coached great players and I’ve also had a group of great coaches over the years,” Judkins said after the win. “I’ve also always had the support of my wonderful family. I’m blessed that I can say that I’m doing something that I love doing. Not everyone can say that about their careers.”

Judkins is in his 19th season leading the Cougars’ basketball program. He was named BYU’s head coach in 2001.
Under Judkins, the Cougars have reached the Sweet 16 twice and the NCAA Tournament nine times.
After the Pepperdine victory, Judkins owns a career record of 400-188.

2019-20’s squad might be one of his best rosters Judkin’s has assembled during his tenure.
The Cougars returned seven of their top players from a team that won 26 games a season ago. BYU had three players selected to the Preseason All-WCC team in senior guard Brenna Chase Drollinger, junior center Sara Hamson, and junior guard Paisley Johnson.
This is the second straight year Chase Drollinger and Hamson have received preseason honors in the conference.
The Cougars have a 7-5 (2-0 WCC) record this season.

BYU’s next opponent is the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The Cougars host the Bulldogs at the Marriott Center on Thursday, January 2 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
