BYU WR Puka Nacua Makes Massive Catch For Late TD Against Boise State

BOISE, Idaho – BYU wide receiver Puka Nacua made an impressive catch for a huge touchdown for the lead late in the Cougars’ game against the Boise State Broncos.
The Broncos hosted the Cougars at Albertsons Stadium on Saturday, November 5.
With 1:46 left in the fourth quarter, BYU quarterback Jaren Hall threw the ball into the back corner of the end zone and let his wideout make a play on the ball. Despite tough defense by the Broncos and a bobbled ball, Nacua came down for a go-ahead score.
Nacua’s touchdown put BYU in front, 31-28.

After the score, Nacua had 14 receptions for 157 yards and two touchdowns. Hall was 29/42 passing for 377 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Nacua entered the game with 26 catches for 382 yards and three touchdowns in 2022.

Hall passed Taysom Hill for 15th place on the Cougars’ all-time passing touchdowns list with 44. This season, Hall has thrown for 2,245 yards, 21 touchdowns, and three interceptions with a 65.6 percent completion rate.

Boise State is headed in a completely different direction than BYU. The Broncos are on a four-game winning streak since firing offensive coordinator Tim Plough.
BYU trails the all-time series against Boise State, 4-8. The series began in 2003 and then became an annual matchup in 2012, one year after BYU became an FBS Independent.
