Zach Wilson Enters Top 10 For Career Passing Yards In BYU Football History

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – BYU junior quarterback Zach Wilson is now in the top 10 all-time in school history for career passing yards.

Wilson was up to 363 passing yards midway through the third quarter when he passed Steve Sarkisian for No. 10 all-time in BYU football history.

The former Corner Canyon star had 7,618 passing yards, passing Sarkisian who had 7,464 yards during his time at BYU.

In 2020, Wilson had 3,658 yards (including three quarters of the Boca Raton Bowl). Wilson is close to passing Robbie Bosco for No. 10 all-time in BYU history for single season passing yards. He already passed Ty Detmer’s 1989 season mark of 32 passing touchdowns and is now tied with Steve Young, Robbie Bosco, Steve Sarkisian, Brandon Doman and Max Hall with 33 touchdowns in a single season.

Through three quarters of the bowl game, Wilson completed 22 of his 28 pass attempts for 384 yards and 3 touchdowns. He connected with tight end Isaac Rex twice and wide receiver Neil Pau’u once for TD’s. Wilson also ran the ball 4 times for 26 yards and two touchdowns.
