Elijah Davis Picks Off Baylor, Runs Back Second Utah Pick-Six Of Season

WACO, Texas — Utah football cornerback Elijah Davis snagged his first interception of the season and took it back 65 yards to the house for a pick-six against Baylor.
It was Davis’ third career pick and the second pick-six of the year for the Utes.

The bye week rust was on full display early for Utah, especially on offense. The first two drives quickly stalled and ended in back-to-back punts.
Utah shook off the early woes, putting together a 10-play drive that ended in a Dallen Bentley touchdown on the offense’s third series.
Just before the conclusion of the first half, Davis made the Bears offense pay for a lackadaisical throw. He jumped the route and turned on the jets to blow past the QB and punch in six.

Utah’s pick-six streak was already extended earlier in the year by two-way star Jackson Bennee, but a second definitely doesn’t hurt.

Utah Football Hits Road To Face Baylor Bears
Utah football played its first game out of state in over a month in week 12 against the Baylor Bears.
Coming off a bye week, the Utes had won two straight and looked for their second conference road win this season. Meanwhile, the Bears had won their last game but lost two straight before that.
It was, technically, the first conference meeting between the schools. Last year, they met, but it was counted as a non-conference game because the matchup was scheduled before Utah officially joined the Big 12.
