PROVO, UT- SEPTEMBER 29: Calvin Tyler Jr., #4 of the Utah State Aggies dives for extra yardage during the first half of their game against the Brigham Young Cougars September 29, 2022 at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah.

LOGAN, Utah –Calvin Tyler Jr. answered the Rainbow Warriors touchdown with his second score of the night, a four-yard power rush that gave USU a 31-17 lead.

Tyler Jr. capped the Aggies most-sustained drive of the night, a 13-play march that the graduate-senior running backed punctuated with a touchdown. He has 19 rushing attempts for 103-yards. He has also added three catches for 50 yards and a touchdown.

Utah State Aggies (4-5, 3-2) vs. Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors (2-8, 1-4)

USU’s roller coaster of a season is trending up as the Aggies have captured victory in three of their last four games. The Aggie offense has found a rhythm under quarterback Cooper Legas, who has started four of USU’s last five games. The only missed game was due to injury.

With Legas as the team’s starting signal-caller, the Aggies have scored at least 26 points in three of his four starts. In his other start, USU won with 17 points.

As the Aggies take a long flight to the Hawaiian Islands, the Rainbow Warriors will look to snap a three-game losing streak.

Hawai’i has not strung together consecutive wins this season and currently owns a 2-8 record. The Rainbow Warriors opened the year dropping three straight before a win at home against Duquesne.

Following the victory over the Dukes, Hawai’i dropped back-to-back games against New Mexico State and San Diego State. After falling in their Mountain West opener to SDSU, the Rainbow Warriors tasted victory with a win at home over the Nevada Wolf Pack. Since the win, Hawai’i has fallen to Colorado State, Wyoming, and Fresno State.

Hawai’i ranks last in the Mountain West, allowing 35.8 points per contest. The Rainbow Warriors are also the conference’s third-worst offense with only 17.8 points scored per game.

Utah State’s offense averages 20.0 points per game and the Aggie defense surrenders 28.9 points per contest.
