Mountain West Announces Football Schedule Rotation For Next Three Seasons

SALT LAKE CITY – The Mountain West Conference announced a new football schedule rotation for the next three seasons and will eliminate divisions.
Beginning with the 2023 season, the Mountain West won’t have divisions in football, which led to the new football schedule cycle. The new three-year cycle will allow all the teams to play nine of the 11 opponents twice, once at home, once on the road and two opponents in each of the three years.
For the Utah State Aggies, the two opponents they will face in each of the next three seasons are Boise State and San Diego State. USU will host the Broncos twice and the Aztecs once.

Last season, Utah State hosted Boise State, Colorado State, Hawai’i and Wyoming, while traveling to Air Force, UNLV, San Jose State and New Mexico.
Despite the new cycle starting in 2023, Utah State will host UNLV, Air Force, New Mexico and San Jose State. They will travel to Colorado State, Wyoming, Hawai’i and Boise State. Utah State will face UConn, Alabama, Weber State and BYU in non-conference play.
In 2023 when the new cycle takes place, the Aggies will host Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State and Nevada, while traveling to Air Force, New Mexico, San Diego State and San Jose State.
For the 2024 campaign, Utah State will battle Hawai’i, New Mexico, Wyoming and San Diego State at home. Their road schedule includes Boise State, Colorado State, Nevada and UNLV.
In 2025, the Aggies will face Air Force, Boise State, San Jose State and UNLV at Maverik Stadium. On the road, they will take on Fresno State, Hawai’i, San Diego State and Wyoming.
With divisions being eliminated in the Mountain West Conference in 2023, the two teams with the highest conference winning percentage will compete in the MW Championship Game.
