SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – After Thursday’s breakout performance at the NBA Draft Combine, former Utah State center Neemias Queta had a quiet second scrimmage in Chicago.

The Aggie big man scored seven points and grabbed six rebounds in just under 23 minutes, but committed five fouls and failed to block a shot.

Despite Queta’s limited impact, his team remains a perfect 2-0 at the combine.

Queta did hand out two assists in limited minutes, a skill he’s been looking to show off during his time at the combine.

Despite Thursday’s 15 point, seven rebound performance, Queta failed to record an assist in 20 minutes.

“Being able to pass out at the short roll,” Queta said of wanting to show off his improved skills. “Being able to stay in front of guards on the perimeter, and then if possible knocking down the open shots.”

The first-round draft hopeful was able to show off his passing in one sequence with teammate Quintin Grimes. After catching the ball on the high post, Queta found Grimes cutting to the basket on a backdoor cut.

Queta has been one of the most talked-about performers at the draft combine. According to draft expert Sam Vecenie, Queta was one of seven players who played in the five on five scrimmages and helped themselves during the weekend.

After averaging 14.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks at Utah State as a junior, the center has averaged 11 points, 6.5 rebounds, one steal, and .5 blocks in two games in Chicago.

The former Aggie’s showing has pushed him up draft boards here he’s projected to be either a late first-round or early second-round pick.
