Dixie State Torches Denver With Hot Three-Point Shooting

SALT LAKE CITY – The Dixie State men’s basketball scorched the Denver Pioneers for a victory led by a school-record performance from three-point range.
The Trailblazers hosted the Pioneers at Burns Arena on Saturday, December 11.
Dixie State defeated Denver, 82-62.

The Blazers started the game on a 7-0 run and were up 32-9 midway through the first half. At halftime, the Trailblazers took a 20-point lead into the locker room.
During the final 20 minutes of action, Dixie State maintained the margin on the scoreboard as both teams scored 34 points in the second half.
Dixie State finished the game shooting 45.8 percent overall and a blazing 16-29 for 55.2 percent from downtown. The 16 triples are a new school record for the Trailblazers. The previous single-game high for Dixie State was 13 threes.

Three Blazers reached double figures in scoring.
Cameron Gooden led Dixie State with 22 points, two rebounds, and six assists.
With the win, the Trailblazers improved their record to 5-5 this season.
Dixie State’s next game is against the SAGU American Indian College Warriors on Wednesday, December 15 at 7 p.m. (MDT). The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
