Utah Women’s Basketball Coach Lynne Roberts Named 2020 WBCA Victory Club Honoree

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – University of Utah women’s basketball head coach Lynne Roberts was named to the 2020 WBCA Victory Club honorees list after recording her 300th career win as a head coach.
The WBCA Victory Club honor is awarded annually on each WBCA-member head coach who achieves a milestone of 200, 300, 400, 500 or more career victories during their current season on the level of competition at which they coach.
Roberts finished her 18th season as a head coach and holds an overall record of 307-246. Her record at Utah is 86-71. The Utah head coach earned her 300th victory when the Utes beat the Weber State Wildcats on December 20, 2019.
With Roberts at the helm, Utah has reached the postseason three out of the five seasons that she has been in Salt Lake City, including Utah’s first 20-win season since 2012-13 in 2018-19.

During Roberts’ tenure, the Utes have had 15 All-Pac-12 selections and 18 Pac-12 All-Academic honorees, adding in Utah’s first player of the year award in 2019.
On top of that, Utah has broken four school records, including back-to-back single-season three-point records and the first Utah player to be drafted in the WNBA since 2014.
Roberts joined the Utes after nine seasons as the head coach at Pacific, where she was the West Coast Conference Coach of the Year twice. She led the Tigers to the postseason in each of her last four seasons in charge. Before her arrival, Pacific made it to the postseason just once in school history.
Prior to Pacific, Roberts spent four seasons as the head coach at Chico State where she compiled an 86-31 overall record. In her final season, the Wildcats were 28-4 in 2005-06 and advanced to the NCAA Division II Final Four. She was named the WBCA West Region Coach of the Year in 2004-05 and was the California Collegiate Athletic Association Coach of the Year in 2004-05 and 2005-06.
