Maile O’Keefe’s Perfect 10 Leads No. 2 Red Rocks Past No. 19 Stanford

SALT LAKE CITY – For the second time in her career, Maile O’Keefe recorded a perfect 10, which helped the second ranked Red Rocks to a win over 19th ranked Stanford.

Maile O’Keefe had a “flawless” performance on beam that led to her perfect 10 as the Red Rocks beat Stanford 197.675-196.000. Utah is still undefeated this season.

Grace McCallum won the all-around with a 39.625.

Red Rocks’ First Rotation

The meet started with Utah on vault and Stanford on bars. Alexia Burch led the way with a 9.90, while Grace McCallum posted a 9.850. Jillian Hoffman and Maile O’Keefe both recorded a 9.825.

Grace Waguespack had Stanford’s top score on bars with a 9.875. Kyla Bryant chipped in a 9.825, along with a 9.80 from Madison Burnette.

The Red Rocks had a 49.125-49.025 lead after the first rotation.

Second Rotation, Utah Tops Stanford

Utah moved over to bars, while Stanford was on the vault. Cristal Isa was outstanding, posting a 9.950. Maile O’Keefe was superb as well with a 9.90. Grace McCallum had a 9.875 and Sage Thompson posted a 9.850.

Anapaula Gutierrez led Stanford with a 9.825 on vault. Kyla Bryant added a 9.80.

The Red Rocks had a 98.525-97.900 lead midway through the meet.

Third Rotation

The Red Rocks went to the beam, while Stanford was on the floor. Utah recorded the nation’s highest score on beam this season as a team with a 49.725. Besides O’Keefe’s perfect 10, Utah dominated the beam with all six gymnasts were either higher scores or tied with the Cardinal gymnasts. Grace McCallum had a career-high 9.950, while Abby Paulson had the same score. Cristal Isa chipped in a 9.925. Amelie Morgan dropped a score of 9.90 and Adrienne Randall had a 9.850.

Kyla Bryant was the standout performer on floor for Stanford with a score of 9.90. Anapaula Gutierrez recorded a score of 9.850 and Taylor Lawson had a 9.825.

The Red Rocks had a 148.250-147.075 lead heading into the final rotation.

Fourth Rotation

The meet concluded with Utah on floor and Stanford on beam. Grace McCallum led the way for the Red Rocks with a 9.950. Jillian Hoffman chipped in a score of 9.90. Cristal Isa and Sydney Soloski each posted a score of 9.875.

On beam, Wesley Stephenson led the Cardinal with a 9.850. Isabela Onyshko had a score of 9.80.

The Red Rocks improved their record to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in Pac-12 action. They will hit the road for the first time this season to face UCLA on Friday, February 4 at 8 p.m. MT on ESPN.
