Three-Star Tight End Bear Fisher Commits To Utah Football

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utes get back on the board this week, as Queen Creek (AZ) three-star tight end Bear Fisher has committed to Kyle Whittingham’s Utah football program.
Fisher was part of the second group of official visitors over the June 6 weekend. He took an additional visit to Iowa State before announcing his decision on Friday.

Tight end Bear Fisher commits to Utah football
Fisher is a 6-foot-5, 235-pound three-star tight end prospect. He’s earned 14 offers from programs like Iowa State, Arizona, BYU, Cal, and North Carolina, among others. Freddie Whittingham and the Utes extended an offer to him on May 14.
Utah welcomed Fisher to campus for an official visit the first weekend of June. Freddie Whittingham and the offensive coaches made a strong impression. After tripping to Utah, Fisher traveled to Ames, IA, to visit the Cyclones the next weekend.
According to 247 Sports, Stewart holds an 83 three-star rating and ranks as the No. 115 tight end in the class. The Utes established themselves as the top option after his visit and were able to secure his pledge today.
How does Bear Fisher fit with Utah football?
At his size, Fisher has a solid projection as an in-line tight end. He has plenty of room to fill out and get stronger, which will vastly improve his game. Utah and Iowa State, two programs that have shared plenty of success with the tight end position, is telling of his projection at the position.
Fisher is utilized in the passing game at Queen Creek, often being split out wide or in the slot. Fisher has a large catch radius and is a natural pass catcher. He can run a variety of routes and shows the ability to pick up some big chunks of yards after the catch.
He’s a willing blocker, but can continue to improve his physicality at the point of attack. Physical development will be necessary to maximize his potential at the next level.
