SALT LAKE CITY—Kyle Whittingham’s Utah football program has gone on a bit of a run with recruiting. Now, they’ve added a dynamic duo to the 2026 class, thanks to the commitment of Jaron & Kennan Pula.

Now, Utah is riding a bit of momentum after landing four-star OT Kelvin Obot yesterday and the Pula twins today. The Utes 2026 class now grows to 16 pledges, while also trending positively for other prospects as well.

After committing to the UCLA Bruins nine months ago, the Pula twins officially visited Utah two weekends ago, and ultimately backed off their pledge and flipped to the Utes.

Lone Peak WR’s Jaron & Kennan Pula have committed to Utah

The Pula brothers were standout playmakers at Timpview, racking up a combined 2,509 yards and 22 touchdowns during their time with the Thunderbirds. Now, they’re headed to Lone Peak High—last year’s Class 6A state runner-up—where they’ll suit up for one of Utah’s top high school programs.

The two share 25 offers overall, which include Alabama, Michigan State, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington. DeShaun Foster’s Bruins recruited the talented twins hard and eventually landed a commitment from the package-deal brothers. However, the two local programs, Utah and BYU, maintained an open line of communication with them.

Being a package deal is something the brothers have prioritized. Playing together in college, just as they’ve done throughout their childhood, is important to them. The Utes pushed for and secured the final visit date, giving them the inside track to flipping their commitment.

Jaron Pula is rated a four-star prospect with a 90 grade, checking in as the No. 35 receiver and No. 5 in-state player. Kennan is rated a three-star with an 89 grade, and ranks as the No. 63 receiver and No. 8 player in the state of Utah.

The Pula twins were part of the group that included five-star OT Felix Ojo, three-star DB Dylan Waters, three-star defensive back Aisa Galea’i, three-star WR Perrion Williams, three-star defensive lineman Javion Ramon, three-star tight end Josiah Jefferson, and three-star OL Rowdy Pearce.

They become Utah’s 15 and 16 commits of the class, joining running back LaMarcus Bell, edge Prestion Pitts, quarterback Michael Johnson, linebacker LaGary Mitchell, cornerback Major Hinchen, safety Carter Stewart, tight end Bear Fisher, receiver Perrion Williams, offensive lineman Rowdy Pearce, defensive lineman Javion Ramon, tight end Josiah Jefferson, and offensive tackle Kelvin Obot.

How does Jaron Pula fits with Utah football?

Jaron Pula is one of the elite pass-catching prospects in the region—a high-upside receiver with rare physical tools and natural playmaking instincts. He turned heads during a breakout junior campaign, flashing the kind of big-play ability.

At 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, Jaron combines twitchy athleticism with strong ball skills that stand out in a big way. He’s got a wide catch radius, soft hands, and consistently comes down with contested catches, especially in traffic or on 50/50 balls.

As a route runner, he’s polished and efficient, with sharp breaks and the kind of separation burst that makes defensive backs uncomfortable. He tracks the ball well deep and has outstanding coordination at the catch point.

Physically, he still has room to grow—adding more strength and improving his play through contact will round out his game—but the arrow is pointing way up.

How does Kennan Pula fits with Utah football?

Kennan Pula is a true two-way standout with the skill set to thrive on either side of the ball at the next level. At 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Kennan brings size, speed, and a natural feel for the game that makes everything look effortless.

He’s a smooth, fluid athlete with impressive range in the defensive backfield, showing an ability to cover ground quickly and read plays instinctively. As a receiver, he’s a natural hands-catcher with a knack for using his frame to shield defenders and create space.

His versatility is his calling card. With continued development and focus off the field, Kennan has the tools to be a high-impact college player.
