Four-Star OT Kelvin Obot Includes Utah Football In Top Four

SALT LAKE CITY—Utah football’s recruiting is ramping up for a big month of action. As Kyle Whittingham’s program readies for over 20 visitors, they’ve secured their place among the top schools for a coveted offensive line prospect, Fruitland (ID) four-star tackle Kelvin Obot.
The Utes and all others nationwide will welcome the bulk of their targets to campus for official visits, which means the competition is heating up.
Utah football makes the cut for Kelvin Obot’s top four schools
According to 247Sports’ Composite Ranking, Obot ranks as the nation’s No. 131 overall prospect and the No. 9 offensive tackle. The 6-foot-5, 295-pound lineman is one of the most sought-after recruits in the Western United States, boasting more than 20 scholarship offers.
On Thursday, Obot, who had previously announced plans for five official visits, took to social media to reveal his final four choices: Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, and Utah.

Obot has already scheduled official visits with each of his four finalists: Utah (May 30), Nebraska (June 6), Oregon (June 13), and Michigan (June 20).
This update marks a refinement of his list, dropping only USC from his previously announced top five. This decision signals that the highly coveted lineman is moving closer to making his final choice—one that will likely be shaped by the insights gained from these pivotal summer visits.
At 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds, Obot has the sheer size to play at the collegiate level. He pairs with that frame really exciting athletic qualities, which makes him one of the top line prospects in the class. Obot has the sort of ability to be an impact player as a true freshman, something Utah has been fearless to embrace.

Obot’s connection to Utah football
One of the all-time greats in Utah football history is offensive tackle Jordan Gross. The 2002 consensus All-American and Outland Trophy finalist, Gross is considered one of the best to come through the football program.
After a lengthy and very successful NFL career, Gross is now the head coach of Fruitland High School, where Obot currently plays.
Obot has been a frequent visitor to Utah; he traveled down to Salt Lake City for the spring game and visited a couple of times last year.

Coach Jim Harding has led the way in Utah’s recruiting efforts for Obot. Harding has had success in recent years, not only as a recruiter but also as a developer. He has two tackles, Spencer Fano and Caleb Lomu, projected among the best O-Line prospects in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Utah will welcome nine official visitors May 30th
The months of May and June have turned into the most eventful recruiting months in college football. Programs will welcome the bulk of their 2026 high school targets to campus for official visits.
Utah will kick things off with a bang over the final weekend of May. They will bring in nine official visitors, including: No. 1 in-state prospect Salesi Moa, Mansfield Timberview (TX) athlete Chance Collins, Midland (TX) offensive lineman Pulelei’ite Primus, Bixby (OK) linebacker Trey McGlothlin, Orem (UT) receiver Kaue Akana, Orem (UT) defensive lineman Lopeti Moala, and Olympus (UT) linebacker Adam Bywater.
The Utes currently have two commits in the 2026 class. Three-star edge Preston Pitts, who committed after an official visit this spring. As well as three-star Oaks Christian tight end Colby Simpson, who committed back in February.
