Utah Football Named National Team Of The Week After Big Win Over Oregon

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah football program has been named the Cheez-It Bowl National Team of the Week after their blowout win over No. 3 Oregon.
Utah was selected as the National Team of the Week by the Football Writers Association of America. It’s the third time the Utes have earned this honor and it is the first time since 2015 when they beat then-No. 13 Oregon in Eugene, 62-20.
On Saturday night, Utah beat Oregon 38-7 and clinched the Pac-12 South Division title and will play in the Conference Championship game on Friday, December 3. The Utes knocked off the Ducks from Playoff contention in front of a record crowd of 52,724 fans at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Utah’s win over Oregon gave head coach Kyle Whittingham his 142nd victory at the helm. He is now the all-time winningest coach in program history.
The Utes will return to action on Friday, November 26 to host Colorado in the regular season finale and Senior Day. Kickoff is at 2 p.m. MT and will be televised on FOX.
