Talented In-State Trio Visiting Utah Football This Weekend

SALT LAKE CITY—Kyle Whittingham’s Utah football program has turned recruiting into a month-long whirlwind, hosting a steady parade of top prospects on campus.
This weekend, the Utes will roll out the red carpet for three in-state standouts: Lone Peak wideouts Jaron Pula and Kennan Pula, plus Timpview defensive back Aisa Galea’i.
Landing any—or all of these rising stars would underscore Utah’s commitment to building home-grown talent while bolstering key position groups.

Lone Peak WR’s Jaron & Kennan Pula

The Pula brothers were standout playmakers at Timpview, racking up a combined 2,509 yards and 22 touchdowns during their time with the Thunderbirds. Now, they’re headed to Lone Peak High—last year’s Class 6A state runner-up—where they’ll suit up for one of Utah’s top high school programs.
Being a package deal is something the brothers have prioritized. Playing together in college, just as they’ve done throughout their childhood, is important to them.
DeShaun Foster’s Bruins recruited the talented twins hard and eventually landed a commitment from the package-deal brothers. However, the two local programs, Utah and BYU, maintained an open line of communication with them.
Jaron Pula Scouting Report
Jaron Pula is one of the elite pass-catching prospects in the region—a high-upside receiver with rare physical tools and natural playmaking instincts. He turned heads during a breakout junior campaign, flashing the kind of big-play ability.
At 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, Jaron combines twitchy athleticism with strong ball skills that stand out in a big way. He’s got a wide catch radius, soft hands, and consistently comes down with contested catches, especially in traffic or on 50/50 balls.
As a route runner, he’s polished and efficient, with sharp breaks and the kind of separation burst that makes defensive backs uncomfortable. He tracks the ball well deep and has outstanding coordination at the catch point.
Physically, he still has room to grow—adding more strength and improving his play through contact will round out his game—but the arrow is pointing way up.

Kennan Pula Scouting Report
Kennan Pula is a true two-way standout with the skill set to thrive on either side of the ball at the next level. At 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, Kennan brings size, speed, and a natural feel for the game that makes everything look effortless.
He’s a smooth, fluid athlete with impressive range in the defensive backfield, showing an ability to cover ground quickly and read plays instinctively. As a receiver, he’s a natural hands-catcher with a knack for using his frame to shield defenders and create space.
His versatility is his calling card. With continued development and focus off the field, Kennan has the tools to be a high-impact college player.

Timpview DB Aisa Galea’i

Galea’i is one of the top defensive backs in the region. He was super productive last season when he tallied 82 total tackles, 11 for loss, while notching six interceptions, seven pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and one recovery. That sort of ballhawking production is coveted by Utah.
He’s seen his recruitment boil down to three teams – BYU, UCLA, and Utah. He’s already visited the other two programs, so Utah getting the last visit is somewhat significant.

Aisa Galea’i Scouting Report
He possesses great size and athleticism for the defensive secondary. He’s able to cover a lot of ground and has the twitchiness to change direction in tight coverage as well. His basketball background shines in his fluidity and ball skills.
Galea’i just has a knack for finding the ball and capitalizing on the opportunities. Whether it’s breaking up passes or intercepting them, Galea’i puts himself in good positions and has the natural instincts and skills to make a play.
He plays with good physicality and is a very willing tackler. He has a good frame and should be able to add some size without compromising his athleticism.
