SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah women’s basketball team added two key transfers to their 2022-23 roster, including one from a Pac-12 school.

Utah women’s basketball head coach Lynne Roberts announced they have added transfers in USC forward Alissa Pili and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College center Nene Sow.

Alissa Pili

Pili spent three seasons at USC and played in 63 games with 58 starts. She was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year for the 2019-20 season. This past season as a junior, Pili saw action in 19 games with 18 starts for the Trojans, averaging 7.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest.

As a sophomore in 2020-21, Pili averaged 11 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals and one assist per game, while shooting 41.5% from the field. She earned All-Pac-12 honorable mention that season.

During her freshman season, Pili ranked in the top 100 in the nation in total points (504), field goal percentage (51.1%), double-doubles (11), free throws made (109 and field goals made (190).

In high school, Pili was a three-time Alaska Gatorade Player of the Year from Diamond High School.

“I have always loved Alissa Pili’s game since high school. She’s so strong and powerful, has incredible hands, great passer, can shoot the 3, and rebound,” Roberts said of Pili. “She will bring three years of Pac-12 experience and she really wants to help us win and continue moving our program forward. We’re excited to have her join our family!”

Nene Sow

Sow spent two seasons at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, where she shot 55% from the floor during the 2021-22 campaign. She pulled down six or more rebounds in six games last season.

During the 2020-21 season, she played in 19 of 20 games with one start, averaging 3.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, shooting 50% from the floor.

“We are really excited that Nene has decided to become a Ute!  She will bring obvious size and length to our post play.  She works hard, runs well, can catch and finish, and will be a defensive factor for us,” Roberts said of Sow. “Beyond that, she’s an impressive person that will bring so much to our community.  Welcome to the family, Néné!”
