Utah’s Dani Drews Earns Second Straight Pac-12 Player Of The Week Award

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – For the second straight week, Utah volleyball star Dani Drews earned Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after her performances in Tempe.

Dani Drews led Utah volleyball with 51 kills, while hitting .358 in two matches against Arizona State. She averaged 6.38 kills per set in eight sets over the weekend.
In their 3-2 win over the Sun Devils on Friday, February 5, Drews recorded 31 kills, including 6 in the final set to seal the win for the Utes. She completed her double-double with 15 digs. Drews had over 30 kills in a single match for the fourth time in her career.

When they battled ASU again on Sunday, February 7, Drews totaled 20 kills, while hitting .366. Utah swept the Sun Devils in the second match in the desert.
Arizona’s Kamaile Hiapo earned Defensive Player of the Week, while Washington’s Madi Endsley earned Freshman of the Week honors.

Utah is off to a 6-0 start this season and moved up to No. 7 in the latest AVCA Division I Coaches Poll, which is the highest ranking in program history. They will host USC for two matches this weekend at the Jon M. Huntsman Center beginning on Friday, February 12 at 3 p.m. MST and Sunday, February 14 at 12 p.m. MST. Both matches will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
