SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Runnin’ Utes guard Marco Anthony wants to change his number to 44 but can’t reach Utah legend Keith Van Horn.
When Marco Anthony played at Utah State, he wore No. 44 because he is a fan of the Wendy’s 4 for 4 meal deal. Back on March 13, Anthony was asked why he wore that number.
After Bleacher Report posted the reason why Anthony wears No. 44, Wendy’s responded with “smartest player on the court tbh.”

“I couldn’t get a hold of Keith (Van Horn) to try to gift me with 44, so I will just leave it at that,” Anthony said with a laugh.
After the media session was over, Anthony said he has tried to reach out to Keith Van Horn through social media but has not received a response from the Utah legend.
Van Horn’s career in a Utah uniform was so successful that he had his number 44 retired in the rafters of the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
It’s still possible for Anthony to wear that number with the Utes but Van Horn would need to grant permission. For the time being, Anthony will still wear No. 10.
