SLC Resident Alex Hall Earns Silver In Men’s Slopestyle

MILAN, Italy – Reigning Olympic champion and Salt Lake City resident Alex Hall fell twice on his final run, costing him a chance to defend his 2022 Beijing gold.
Hall’s second run of 85.75 was good enough to hold on for a silver medal in the men’s freestyle skiing slopestyle competition.

Norway’s Birk Ruud earned gold with an 86.28 that came on his first run of the day. New Zealand’s Luca Harrington won bronze.
Alex Hall
Run 1
Salt Lake City resident Alex Hall was the fifth skier of the day, but briefly held the top spot following his first run after scoring 52.65.
Run 2
The 27-year-old took his time visualizing the course before beginning.
Hall turned in a beautiful second run from the very beginning. Clean rail slides gave way to eye-popping jumps as Hall earned an 85.75.

Hall was in position for a silver medal following the run.
Run 3
Silver was the best the reigning gold medalist could hope for after falling twice on his final run.
Mac Forehand
Run 1
Mac Forehand‘s first run ended in disaster before it ever began.
Forehand launched off the first rail of the course but lost control and tumbled to the ground, ending his first chance.
Run 2
Forehand’s second run was much improved after his early fall.
The 24-year-old registered a 55.93, moving up to seventh with one final run remaining.
Run 3
A fall off a rail sent Forehand home disappointed after two falls in three runs.
Konnor Ralph
Run 1
A Salt Lake Community College student, Konnor Ralph, held off on using his best tricks after a mistake early in his first run forced him to reevaluate.
Ralph’s opening run ended with a score of 36.20.
Run 2
Ralph jumped into fifth place after a spectacular second run.
He cruised through the course, finishing with a 66.76 score, his best of the day.
Run 3
Beginning his final run in seventh, Ralph fell short of the podium after coming off a rail grind early.
He finished his Olympic slopestyle experience with a disappointing 35.90.
