Jessie Diggins Powers Through Women’s Cross-Country To Earn Bronze

MILAN, Italy – Former Westminster student Jessie Diggins pushed through incredible discomfort on her way to securing a Bronze medal in the women’s cross-country event.
A final burst of speed lifted Diggins to the third solo medal of her Olympic career.

Sweden took the top two spots with Frida Karlsson blowing the field away for Gold, and Ebba Andersson earning Silver.

Looking to make up for earlier disappointmentsin these Winter Games, Diggins dug deep in the cross-country medal round.
The cross-country specialist put on a display of athleticism, battling through an earlier rib injury and obvious pain.

🥉 Jessie Diggins was incredible today. Gutted through a rib injury, saw her screaming in pain after crossing the finish line.
Looking like a bronze, which will be her fourth Olympic medal. A gold in 2018, silver and bronze in 2022, another in 2026.

She used on a final sprint to the finish, collapsing in triumph after securing a Bronze medal.
Novie McCabe
University of Utah student Novie McCabe finished 30th.
It was a disappointing showing after she was 24th in the 2022 Beijing Winter Games
