MILAN, Italy — Park City native Matthew Greiner made his Olympic debut at the 2026 Milano Cortina Games and impressed, setting up a finals appearance tomorrow.

After the third run, the top 20 racers based on cumulative time get a chance to race for a medal in run four.

Matthew Greiner Makes Olympic Debut At Milano Cortina Games

In his first-ever Olympic run, Greiner posted a top-15 time in the field, edging out the 16th-place time by one one-thousandth of a second.

With a total time of 53.814, he came in 0.828 seconds slower than the leader. It’s worth noting that the 52.924-second time posted by Germany’s Max Langenhan set a new course record at the Cortina Sliding Centre.

His start time was 3.596 seconds (0.085 seconds slower than the previous start record) and reached a top speed of 78.54 miles per hour.

His second run was just a tad slower, coming in at 53.946 seconds. His first run was 15th in the field, and his second was 17th.

Greiner’s start was only 0.002 seconds slower than his first, but he struggled to pick up as much speed.

Again facing a new track record by the leader, Greiner sits at 17th heading into runs three and four tomorrow. As long as he stays put, he will be able to race for a medal in the fourth round, where only the top 20 will advance.
