Bonneville High Football Team Participates In Community Cleanup Following Wind Storm

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Members of the Bonneville High School football team helped the community during a cleanup effort following a wind storm in Northern Utah.

On September 7, much of Northern Utah sustained hurricane-forced winds.

Two days later, Utah governor Gary Herbert declared a state of emergency after cities along the Wasatch Front sustained damage from the storm.

Some of that damage occurred at Bonneville High where large trees were uprooted and fell over.

Players on the Lakers football roster helped participate in a community effort to clean up the mess.

Following the storm, Bonneville High posted additional photos of the damage on the school’s Instagram account.

“The impact of the storm on the trees around Bonneville is devastating. We lost close to 30 trees,” the school posted. “We know the impact in the community as a whole is also Extreme. Our thoughts go out to all of our community members. Know we’re here if you have needs. Help keep each other safe as we rebound together. Also, please avoid coming to campus until we get this cleaned up. We appreciate all the support and remember, Together We’re One.”
