Week 5: Friday night’s Utah high school football roundup

SALT LAKE CITY — After another three-game appetizer introduced Week 5 of the 2026 Utah high school football season Thursday night, the buffet continued through Friday night.

Mountain Ridge stayed unbeaten with a rout of Copper Hills, handing the Grizzlies their first loss of the season.

Region 2

Herriman 44, Bingham 0

Filisi Filipe caught two touchdowns and ran for two more as the Mustangs blanked the Miners to move to 5-0.

Bryson Sweeney threw four touchdown passes for Herriman (5-0), which jumped out to a 27-0 halftime lead and never looked back against Bingham (1-4).

Mountain Ridge 43, Copper Hills 7

Jaxon Hunt threw three touchdown passes and caught another from Marshall West as the unbeaten Sentinels handed the Grizzlies their first loss of the year.

BYU commit Tytan DeJong caught two touchdown passes for Mountain Ridge (5-0), which held Copper Ridge (4-1) out of the end zone until Ishmael Duffus’ 24-yard touchdown from Grayson Hill with one minute remaining.

Riverton 14, Cedar Valley 7

Hayden Schneider scored his second touchdown on a 15-yard run with 9:21 left in the third quarter to help the Silverwolves (2-3) rally by the Aviators.

Jonas Grover gave Cedar Valley. (1-4) a 7-0 lead with a 13-yard touchdown from Briggs Williamson in the first quarter. But Schneider hit Tavin Hill with a 30-yard TD strike with 1:26 left in the half to tie the game, and took the lead for good on the third-quarter run before Riverton’s defense did the rest.

Region 4

West Jordan 21, Cyprus 17

Kenyon Shockey threw his third touchdown pass for 43 yards to Halen Warner with 3:21 remaining to help the Jaguars (2-3) survive the Pirates (1-4).

Hillcrest 33, Hunter 30

K’Von Houston totaled five touchdowns, including a receiving touchdown from Alani Latu with 7:18 remaining to help the Huskies (4-1) hold off the winless Wolverines.

Granger 49, Taylorsville 10

The Lancers jumped out to a 28-10 halftime lead and rolled to their first win of the season over the winless Warriors.

Region 5

West Field 36, Bonneville 30

Elijah Woods ran for a pair of touchdowns, pacing a 14-0 run in the final seven minutes of the fourth quarter to help the Longhorns rally past the Lakers.

Luke Loughton scored his fourth touchdown on a 6-yard TD run with 8:36 remaining to give Bonneville (1-4) a 30-21 lead.

But Woods scored on a 4-yard TD run with 6:23 remaining, and Caden Judy strode in from 3 yards out with 2:22 left to give West Field the go-ahead score.

Fremont 50, Clearfield 6

Isaia Fonotisatele scored a pair of touchdowns as the Silverwolves overpowered the Falcons to improve to 3-2.

Region 7

Payson 27, Maple Mountain 22

Landon Robbins connected with Carson Wall for two of his three touchdown passes, and Justice Taylor connected with Valentine Sanchez on a 51-yard score with 2:01 remaining to help the Lions (3-2) hold off the Golden Eagles (2-3).

Springville 34, Pleasant Grove 8

Siaosi “Leka” Toki caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Beckett Burton, then returned an interception 91 yards for another score as the Red Devils cruised past the Vikings to move to 3-2.

Orem 48, Spanish Fork 0

Beckham Curtis ran for three touchdowns, and Rock Speredon and Tanner Lewis each completed two TD tosses to help the Tigers (3-2) shut out the Dons (3-2).

Region 8

Uintah 36, Deer Creek 14

Landon Woods ran for three touchdowns and threw for another to help the Utes (2-3) rout the winless Riverhawks.

Timpanogos 41, Wasatch 21

Logan Holloway threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to help the Timberwolves pull past the Wasps for a 3-2 start.

Aksel Wheeler threw two touchdown passes for Wasatch (1-4).

Salem Hills 14, Park City 7

Reggie Smith scored his second touchdown on a 40-yard grab from Cash Hollingshead to help the Skyhawks (3-2) rally past the Miners (1-4).

Provo 37, Mountain View 14

Justice Tela ran for two touchdowns as the Bulldogs pulled away from the Bruins.

Ryker Carson threw a pair of touchdown darts for Provo (2-3).

Region 9

Snow Canyon 26, Desert Hills 14

Parker Olson threw for three touchdowns, including a 16-yard strike to Issaiah Thompson with 9:26 remaining to cap a 26-0 run that rallied the Warriors (3-2) by the Thunder (2-3).

Hurricane 11, Crimson Cliffs 10

Max Hutchings hauled in a 10-yard touchdown from Kannon Cowan with 3:15 remaining as the Tigers stayed unbeaten with a 1-point win over the Mustangs (3-2).

Pine View 69, Dixie 28

Coy Doman threw six touchdown passes and ran for two more to help the Panthers (4-1) rout the Flyers.

Riker Muhlestein completed three touchdown passes and ran for another to lead Dixie (1-4).

Region 10

Murray 55, Cottonwood 0

Dru Reuss threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as the Spartans (4-1) kept the Colts winless with a shutout.

Jordan 34, Juan Diego 7

The Beetdiggers (2-3) scored 27 points in the third quarter to turn a scoreless first half into a comfortable win over the Soaring Eagle (0-5).

Highland 35, East 0

Will Bauman threw for four touchdowns, and Finn Airhart returned an interception 20 yards for another score as the Rams (4-1) blanked the Leopards (0-4).

Region 11

Stansbury 52, Bear River 7

Brighton Reutzel threw five touchdown passes as the Stallions (4-1) cruised by the Bears (3-2).

Sky View 20, Mountain Crest 14

Jordan Hoyt converted a pair of field goals that proved the difference as the Bobcats (2-3) jumped out to a 20-0 lead and held off the Mustangs (3-2).

Ridgeline 62, Tooele 0

Hudson Parry returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, and Noah Fiefia ran for three scores as the Riverhawks stayed unbeaten with a rout of the Buffaloes.

New BYU commit Owen Leishman scored a pair of touchdowns for Ridgeline (5-0).

Green Canyon 33, Deseret Peak 7

Samuel Selman ran for two touchdowns to lead the Wolves (2-3) by the Golden Eagles (0-5).

3A South

North Sanpete 21, Canyon View 13

Trevor Mann ran for two touchdowns to power the Hawks (4-1) by the Falcons (4-1).

Cedar 38, Manti 28

Jackson Mann threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Reds (3-2) by the Templars (1-4).

Richfield 48 Carbon 0

Cordon White threw for four touchdowns as the Wildcats (4-1) shut out the Dinos (1-4).

Whitehorse 46, Panguitch 6

The Raiders cruised to 4-1 over the Bobcats (2-3).

Water Canyon 54, Altamont 8

The Wildcats (2-3) rolled to a decisive win over the Longhorns (1-4).

Grand 12, Utah Military Hillfield 6

Corbin Black found Beto Carroll from 18 yards out for his second touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to rally the Red Devils (2-2) by the Thunderbirds (1-3).

Utah Military Camp Williams 47, Monument Valley 0

The Marauders (3-2) shut out the winless Cougars (0-3).
