Utah Talons open final homestand with championship ring ceremony

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Talons opened their final homestand of 2026 with a long-awaited celebration.
Members of Utah’s 2025 AUSL championship team received their title rings before the Talons hosted the Texas Volts.

Utah enters the final four games of the regular season atop the league standings with a 10-4 record.
Last season, a dominant pitching staff and elite defense powered the Talons to the title. This year, Montana Fouts and Megan Faraimo have again formed one of the league’s strongest pitching duos, while the defense has remained steady despite not quite matching last year’s standard.
The Talons have turned 16 double plays and lead the league in putouts. They also pace the AUSL in complete games with nine, strikeouts with 68, and runs allowed with 34. Utah ranks second in opponent batting average at .228.
Fouts is making a strong case for the AUSL Pitcher of the Year, following in the footsteps of teammate Georgina Corrick, who won the award last year. The former Alabama standout leads the league in several major categories, including wins with a 5-1 record, complete games with five, innings pitched, and strikeouts.
Behind Fouts, Faraimo has proven to be a more-than-capable second starter and bullpen weapon.
The former UCLA star owns a 4.61 ERA, and her 27.1 innings pitched rank fifth in the AUSL. She also has one save and two complete games, showcasing her versatility.

The Talons cemented their place in professional softball and AUSL history last July, completing a two-game sweep of the Chicago Bandits to claim the league’s first championship.
Their first-of-its-kind championship rings feature two custom-cut gems: one set in the falcon’s eye in Utah’s logo and another representing home plate. The stones are designed to reflect the green and gold of the Talons’ championship glory.

One side of the ring features a softball diamond with a single green stone, symbolizing the AUSL’s inaugural season.
Inside the ring, the phrases “Bless this Nest,” the team’s family crest, and “CAW,” the Talons’ team cheer, are engraved into the surface.
