The Hercules Salt Lake County High School Player of the Week is celebrating the best high school football player in Salt Lake County. Presented by Hercules First Federal Credit Union, each week we honor athletes for their exceptional performance on the gridiron. Our winner this week was West quarterback Kamden Lopati.
Salt Lake County Player of the Week – Kamden Lopati, West
The expectations are high for West this season. Coming in as the favorite in region 4, the Panthers are led by Lopati, who is slated to play football at the college level at Michigan once his high school career wraps up this fall. West took those expectations into their week 5 match up with Hillcrest, the Panthers hoping to remain undefeated on the season.
Lopati opened the scoring for West, taking the ball and running 65 yards to the end zone, giving the Panthers a 7-0 lead. Although that would be Lopati’s only rushing touchdown on the day, he ended with 191 yards on the ground on 8 carries. Lopati also impressed through the air, going 14-21 for 301 yards and an additional two scores. West won the batte, 55-6.
