SALT LAKE CITY — The Utes will travel to to Waco, Tx. to take on the Baylor Bears in a matchup that carries real weight Kyle Whittingham’s program, and on Wednesday the initial availability report was released.
Utah is coming off its second bye week after consecutive dominating wins over Colorado and Cincinnati. They turn the page to Week 12, and the stakes are high. The Utes are No. 13 in the College Football Playoff ranking and still in contention for a trip to Arlington.

With Baylor on tap this Saturday, here is who was listed on the initial availability report for Utah:

Prior to the Cincinnati contest, Utah had Dallas Vakalahi, Semi Taulanga, and Tobias Merriweather listed on the report, none of whom played that week.

The availability report for the Baylor Bears isn’t all that long either, but here is who was listed:
- OUT: WR Mason Dossett, LB Jaylin Jones
- DOUBTFUL: S, Placide Djungu-Sungu
- QUESTIONABLE: S Carl Williams IV
What’s at stake
Utah enters Week 12 still in the Big 12 title mix but with zero margin for error. Their dominant 45-14 win over Cincinnati re-affirmed momentum and returned them to the conference championship and playoff conversation, but earlier losses mean they must win out and hope for help.
Utah’s identity is rounding back into form at the perfect time. The defense dominated Cincinnati and Brendan Sorsby led offense after the opening quarter, controlling the tempo and suffocating any rhythm the Bearcats tried to build. The Utes will need a similar defensive effort this week against Sawyer Robertson and the Baylor passing attack.
Offensively, Devon Dampier looked rejuvenated — throwing for 213 yards and two scores while adding 78 on the ground — giving Utah the balance it had been missing. The ground game finished with 267 total yards and that will be key in Utah’s chances for a win.
The Utes are playing their best football of the season, but in a crowded conference race, every possession and every win now carries weight. Utah isn’t just fighting for a spot in the title game anymore — they’re fighting to stay in the playoff race.
