Final Poetry Pitches For A Utah Jazz All-Star Representative

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The official NBA All-Star announcement comes Thursday night so the KSL Unrivaled team made their final pitches in hilarious form.
The Utah Jazz have not had an All-Star since 2016-2017 when Gordon Hayward made the cut. Current Jazzmen Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell are both possible All-Stars.
Last season, Gobert was snubbed.

Scott Mitchell, co-host of Unrivaled, wrote a speech to the tune of the Gettysburg Address to try and convince the NBA coaches to let Gobert in. Mitchell predicted Donovan Mitchell is a shoo-in for the All-Star game.
“Four score and seven dunks ago…” began Mitchell.
“Because I would hate to see Rudy weep and wail another year, for goodness sake, he’s the two-time raining DPOY, and he also has developed a somewhat meager hook shot,” recited Mitchell.
Guest host of Unrivaled and host of Sportsbeat Sam Farnsworth wrote a loving, but kind of sad ode to NBA coaches hoping to convince them of both Mitchell and Gobert.
As a bonus, the reading is set to a menacing love song.

Last, but absolutely not least, host of Unrivaled, Alex Kirry put on his best Karl Malone impression to help with the convincing.

“You may remember me from being the best all-star from here in the state of Utah now listen I am going to tell something to all them coaches,” Kirry said in an endearing Malone accent.
The All-Star starters were announced last week. For the West, Anthony Davis (Lakers), Luka Doncic (Mavericks), LeBron James (Lakers), Kawhi Leonard (Clippers) and James Harden (Rockets) got the nod. On the Eastern side Trae Young (Hawks), Joel Emiid (76ers), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks), Pascal Siakam (Raptors) and Kemba Walker (Celtics) will start.

The rest of the All-Star teams are scheduled to be announced Thursday, January 30 at 5:00 p.m. on TNT. That’s when Utah Jazz fans (and Unrivaled) will find out if their final pitches worked.
