Nathaniel Coleman Wins Silver Medal In Men’s Combined Sport Climbing

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Murray, Utah native Nathaniel Coleman won the Silver medal for the Men’s Combined event in Sport Climbing at the Tokyo Olympics.
Coleman competed in the Men’s Combined final of Sport Climbing on Thursday, August 5.
Men’s Combined consists of speed climbing, bouldering, and lead climbing. It’s the first time Sport Climbing has been an event at the Summer Games.

After participating in the three portions of the event, Coleman had accumulated a total score of 30.00, which was won him the Silver medal.
Alberto Gines Lopez had a final score of 28.00 to win Gold.

Speed Climbing
Coleman raced in three heats in the speed climbing final. He posted the following times:
First Climb: 6.45 seconds
Second Climb: 6.21 seconds
Third Climb: Fall
The climbs result in 6.00 points.

Bouldering
Coleman finished a top the 10 climbers in the final in the bouldering portion of the final. He recorded the following scores:

Boulder 2: T3z2
Boulder 3: z1
Results: 2T3z 4 4
Attempts to Tops: 4
Attempts to Zone: 4
Coleman’s bouldering score was 1.00.

Lead Climbing
Coleman placed fifth in the leading climbing discipline of Men’s Combined.
He reached hold 34+ in the event.
It resulted in a score of 5.00 in lead climbing and 30.00 for the final and Silver.
