SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Lone Peak High School guard Frank Jackson has signed a two-year contract to remain with the Detroit Pistons according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Jackson was originally drafted by the Charlotte Hornets but was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans on draft night. After a disappointing start to his career in New Orleans, Jackson signed with the Oklahoma City Thunder but was waived shortly before the beginning of the 2020-21 season.

The guard then signed a two-way contract with the Pistons and proved to be an intriguing microwave scorer on the young roster.

“Restricted free agent G Frank Jackson is returning to the Detroit Pistons on a two-year deal, sources tell ESPN,” Wojnarowski tweeted. “Jackson earned his way into the rotation with 40 percent 3-point shooting and nearly 10 points per game last season.”

Jackson was born in Washington D.C. but attended high school in Lehi before transferring to Lone Peak. As a senior, the guard was named Mr. Basketball in the state of Utah and was a five-star recruit before committing to play basketball at Duke.

Jackson declared for the draft after his freshman season with the Blue Devils where he averaged 10.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.

Over his final 20 games with the Pistons, Jackson averaged 13.1 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists.
