Two Local Skiers Advance To Freestyle Men’s Big Air Final

SALT LAKE CITY – Two Americans finished in the top-5 and a third in the top-10 of qualifiers in the men’s freestyle skiing big air competition at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
The freestyle skiing big air competition was held on Sunday, February 6.

Alex Hall, Salt Lake City local and current Utah Ute, finished second with 180.25, behind Norway’s Birk Ruud. Hall led until Ruud’s second 90+ run of the qualifier put him in first.
Ruud separated himself from the competition by outscoring Hall 187.75-189-25, a separation of 7.5 points.

Colby Stevenson, the Park City native and current Westminster Griffin, finished fifth with 174.25 points.
The freestyle skiing men’s big air final will air on NBC on Tuesday, February 8 at 8 p.m. (MDT)
