The Utah County High School Player of the Week is awarded each week to the top prep football players in Utah County. It honors athletes for their performances on the gridiron and exceptional play. Our winner this week was Salem Hills High School quarterback Cash Hollingshead.
Utah County Player of the Week – Cash Hollingshead, Salem Hills
Quarterback Cash Hollingshead finished the night with 307 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, while also adding 44 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. In a back and forth affair, Cash Hollingshead and the Salem Hills Skyhawks battled it out against the Spanish Fork Dons in week two. Cash threw his first touchdown pass of the night in the first quarter when he connected with LJ McBride on a 42 yard pass. Right before the halftime break, Cash and LJ would connect for another touchdown to keep Salem Hills within striking distance of the Dons.

Peyton Higginson would take a 14 yard pass from Cash into the endzone for the first score of the second half to tie it all up. Needing to respond to a Spanish Fork touchdown, Cash Hollingshead would run in a touchdown with 9:25 left in the game as Salem Hills took a lead. Spanish Fork would ultimately score late to win the game 33-28 over Salem Hills. Despite the loss, Cash Hollingshead and the Skyhawks showed grit and fight guaranteed to make them a contender in region 8.Every week, KSL Sports will name a Utah County high school player of the week.
