Utah Football Enters Fall Camp With High Expectations, Again

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The University of Utah football program is just days away from beginning its 2021 campaign signaling the end of the talk and the start of the grind.

As Utah fans have become accustomed to, being at your best every week during the season is no easy task. The Pac-12 is filled with capable teams who can deter teams from reaching success.

This off-season has been bright for Utah as they have secured a number of key players from the transfer portal. None bigger than expected starting quarterback Charlie Brewer who enters Utah following a four-year career at Baylor.

The heightened anticipation is coming to an end as Utah will begin the grueling task of managing fall camp. Head coach Kyle Whittingham will look to manage his playing group through his 17th season and will look to maintain the health of his key contributors.

The difference with this year as opposed to previous Pac-12 contending seasons is that the key contributors are yet to prove themselves in a Utah uniform.

Moreover, as the media most recently predicted Utah to finish second in the Pac-12 only behind Oregon, the pressure continues to mount on a Utah program that has yet to secure Pac-12 supremacy.

The 2021 season cannot come soon enough for the Utah fanbase that is itching to get back into a newly renovated Rice-Eccles Stadium and cheer on their beloved Utes.

Utah will, inevitably, be a physical, well-coached, fast football team and if they can find some of the swaggers that came with the 2019 season they will likely secure a place in the Pac-12 title game.

The roster is filled with veterans and leaders. The coaching staff has proven itself over multiple years. All of the pieces are coming together for Utah, now they must learn how to execute and answer the critics when adversity is faced.

Utah starts fall camp on Wednesday, August 4th. The first game of the season is scheduled for September 2nd with a home encounter against Weber State. The kickoff is slated for 5:30 p.m.
