Former Utah G Dakarai Tucker Selected In First Round Of NBA G-League Draft

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Utah guard Dakarai Tucker was selected in the first round of the 2020-21 NBA G-League Draft to the Iowa Wolves.
The former Utah sharpshooter Dakarai Tucker is going back to the NBA G-League after being taken with the 17th overall pick in the G-League Draft.
Tucker is back in the G-League after playing last season overseas. He last played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers during the 2018-19 season. During his one season with the Vipers, he averaged 13 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 43 percent from the field and 38 percent from the three-point line in 25.8 minutes per contest.

The Iowa Wolves is the NBA G-League affiliate for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Iowa will be one of the teams that will play the upcoming season in a bubble in Orlando, Florida, just like the end of the 2019-20 NBA season.
Tucker also played one game for the Salt Lake City Stars during the 2016-17 campaign. He had 6 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals in 35 minutes of action.
The Los Angeles, California native spent four seasons with the Runnin’ Utes from 2012-16. In 125 games played, he averaged 5.7 points and 2 rebounds per game. His game was primarily a perimeter shooter where he made 145 triples in four seasons. Tucker was a part of the Utah basketball team that reached the Sweet 16 before falling to Duke in 2015.
The Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Utah Jazz did not make a selection in the 2020-21 NBA G-League Draft on Monday. No other local players were drafted by a G-League team.
