SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Looking back at all of the best moments from the 2018-19 Utah Jazz season.

Even though the season wasn’t what fans expected, there was still plenty of moments that fans will remember for years to come.

From big dunks to fantastic games, career milestones and everything in-between, KSL Sports searched through the archives to find the best moments from the season.

KSL Sports has counted down the top moments on and off the court from the past season.

10. Jazz Drain Threes For Franchise Record

On December 4, the Utah Jazz blew out the San Antonio Spurs 139-105 at home. They set a franchise record by hitting 20 triples, breaking the previous mark of 19. Donovan Mitchell made four, Kyle Korver and Joe Ingles each connected on three, Ricky Rubio, Jae Crowder and Royce O’Neale all made two. Georges Niang, Thabo Sefolosha, Dante Exum and Raul Neto all made one.

Utah tied that mark against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on March 20.

9. Gobert Sets NBA Single-Season Dunk Record

On March 25, Rudy Gobert broke the single season NBA dunk record with his 270th slam. He broke Dwight Howard’s record of 269 in the 2007-08 season as a member of the Orlando Magic. The NBA started tracking dunks as a statistic in 2000.

His jersey from that game against the Phoenix Suns was taken and displayed by the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Gobert finished the season with 306 dunks.

8. Mitchell’s Christmas Alley-Oop

On Christmas Day against the Portland Trail Blazers, Donovan Mitchell pumped up the crowd at Vivint Smart Home Arena in the first quarter when Jae Crowder threw an alley-oop pass from half-court to Mitchell, who threw down the dunk. Mitchell finished with 19 points in the win.

7. Mitchell Dunks On JaVale McGee Twice

Los Angeles Lakers center JaVale McGee might have nightmares about Donovan Mitchell after two of the games against the Jazz. On January 11th in Salt Lake City, Mitchell was driving down the lane in the second quarter and met McGee in the paint and dunked on him.

On March 27th, Mitchell met McGee again in the paint in the second quarter, it wasn’t as thunderous as McGee didn’t want any part of Mitchell.

6. Hayward’s Return To Utah

November 9 was the long-awaited return of Gordon Hayward in Salt Lake City as a member of the Boston Celtics. The Jazz had to wait one full season to see Hayward in a Celtics uniform because Hayward missed his first season in Boston with a horrific leg injury.

Hayward finished with 13 points and 7 assists on 3-of-9 shooting from the field, Utah picked up the 123-115 win.

5. Headband Joe

On November 12 in Memphis with 3:55 left in the game, Joe Ingles received a massive cut above his left eye. The trainers wrapped a bandage around his head and was able to continue to play. Ingles finished with a team-high 19 points as the Jazz beat the Grizzlies 96-88.

4. Favors Dunk In Bucks Game

On March 2 against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Jazz were making a comeback from a 14-point deficit when Derrick Favors sparked the arena and the Jazz with a posterizing dunk over Ersan Ilyasova. The Jazz beat the Bucks at home in a highly entertaining game.

3. Ingles Kiss, Trash Talk Against Detroit

The Detroit Pistons were in town on January 14th, when the Jazz needed a big bucket late. Joe Ingles delivered that three pointer with 24 seconds left to put the Jazz up by four. As Ingles drained the shot and started back-pedaling to the defensive end of the floor, he blew a kiss to a fan. Come to find out that fan was a Los Angeles Lakers fan. Ingles finished with 13 points and 8 assists.

2. Mitchell’s Fourth Quarter, Dunk

With their backs against the wall, trailing their playoff series 3-0 and trailing the Rockets as the fourth quarter began, Donovan Mitchell turned up the heat. He scored 13 points in the first three minutes of the final period as the Jazz went on a 15-1 run. Mitchell finished with 31 points, 19 points in the final quarter.

He also had a fantastic alley-oop slam on the fast break from Royce O’Neale that fired up Vivint Smart Home Arena. The Jazz won Game 4, but lost the series in Game 5 in Houston.

1. Mitchell’s Career Night

The same night as Derrick Favor’s dunk, Donovan Mitchell turned in a career performance. Mitchell scored 46 points in the Jazz’s big 115-111 win over the Milwaukee Bucks. He made five three pointers, including two clutch triples late in the game. Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded 43 points and 14 rebounds for the Bucks.
