Report: Jazz Sign Former Tennessee Guard To 10-Day Contract

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz are expected to sign former Tennessee Volunteers guard Jaden Springer to a 10-day contract.
EPSN reporter Shams Charania first reported the signing on Wednesday, February 19.
Free agent guard Jaden Springer has agreed to a 10-day contract with the Utah Jazz, his agent Chad Speck told ESPN. Springer played in 26 games for the Celtics this season.

Utah and the rest of the league have enjoyed an extended mid-season break thanks to last weekend’s NBA All-Star Weekend festivities.
The Jazz have dropped 16 of their past 20 games, including a season-long eight-game losing streak to end January.
Springer averaged 1.7 points, shooting 35.3 percent from the floor and 31.6 percent from deep in 26 games with the Boston Celtics this season.
About Jaden Springer
Listed at 6’4 and 204 pounds, Springer split his prep basketball career between Rocky River H.S. in North Carolina and IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He became a top-20 national prospect and was selected to compete in the 2020 McDonald’s All-American Game.
Springer committed to Tennessee and Rick Barnes, becoming the ninth Volunteer commit to be a McDonald’s All-American.
Springer was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team with the Vols after leading his team in scoring (12.5ppg). He has also twice been named SEC Freshman of the Week.

Following one season in Knoxville, Springer entered the NBA draft. The Philadelphia 76ers selected him with the 28th overall selection in the 2021 NBA first round.
Seeing action in 50 games with the Sixers, Springer averaged 3.4 points on 41.6 percent shooting.
While his career averages don’t pop, Springer could be in line for a more significant role in Salt Lake. In 93 career games, Springer has averaged eight minutes a night.
