Utah Utes RB Zack Moss Named State Of Sport Collegiate Male Athlete Of The Year

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah State Athletic Commission has named Utes running back Zack Moss as the Collegiate Male Athlete of the Year.

The award is given by Governor Gary Herbert as a part of the “Governor’s State of Sport Awards.”
The annual ceremony has been postponed due to the coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic.
Moss had an outstanding senior season which capped off a tremendous career for the Utes, earning All-America honors and receiving the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year award.
The future NFL running back broke many school records this past season including the most 1,000-yard rushing seasons with 3, 712 career carries, 4,167 rushing yards and 41 career touchdowns.
This past season, Moss led the Utes in carries with 235, 1,416 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns along with most rushing yards per game average with 108.9. He also led the Pac-12 in rushing yards and yards per game.
Today, 18 Utes would have participated in Pro Day, showcasing their talents to representatives from all 32 NFL teams.

Right now, Moss is projected to be drafted anywhere from the second to the fourth round of the upcoming NFL Draft which is scheduled to take place April 23-25.
Moss joined two other Utah teams or athletes to receive an award with former Red Rocks gymnast MyKayla Skinner as the Collegiate Female Athlete of the Year and the Utah ski team as the Team of the Year.
