Utah State Basketball Forward Named Mountain West Player Of The Week

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State transfer forward Garry Clark has been a revelation through four games, earning Mountain West Player of the Week after helping the Aggies to a pair of wins last week.
The 6’9 post presence averaged 16.5 points, nine rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game while hitting ten of the 11 shots from the field in wins over Weber State and UTEP.
The award was announced on Monday, November 17.

Clark had 13 points and five rebounds in an 83-73 victory against Weber State, finishing with single-digit rebounds for the first time as an Aggie.
He bounced back against UTEP for his best game in Logan. Clark was a menace in the paint, getting to the free-throw line 16 times as he powered his way through a helpless Miners defense.
He posted his third double-double of the season in a win over the Miners, ending the afternoon with 20 points and 13 rebounds in 32 minutes.
Clark is averaging 14 points per game this season, good for 13th in the MW. He is one of four players in the league averaging double-figure rebounds. The Missouri native is tied with New Mexico’s Tomislav Boljan and Grand Canyon’s Nana Owusu-Anane at 10.8 boards per night.

Clark started in 31 games for the Islanders last season, averaging 14.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game as the team’s leading scorer and rebounder. Using his strength around the basket, Clark racked up eight double-doubles with points and rebounds throughout the season.
He scored a season-high 22 points twice.

The first was in a close 74-73 loss to McNeese State, who would go on to win the Southland Conference tournament, and then beating Clemson as a No. 12 seed in the NCAA Tournament. In that game, shot 9-16 and pulled down 14 boards.
The second was in the Southland Conference Tournament First Round, where the Islanders defeated Houston Christian. Clark put another double-double on the board with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

For his dominant play in 2024-25, Garry Clark was named to the All-Southland Conference First Team.
His field goal percentage has improved in each of his three years of Division I basketball. Still, the offensive stat that took the most significant jump last season for Clark was his three-point percentage, which climbed from 26.3% to 33.3% on similar volume. That is by no means elite, but it still provides a threat from outside.
