Afternoon forecast July 23, 2026

Drier air is working its way into northern Utah, keeping most of the monsoonal storms across central and eastern Utah. This trend will linger into the weekend with mainly isolated mountain storms during the afternoons and evening. Temperatures are going up with a return to 100 for the Wasatch Front and Cache valley by Friday. An extreme heat watch has been issued for this area beginning Saturday with highs approaching 103. Next week, monsoonal moisture surges back in bring back more mountain storms, a few valley storms and possible flash flooding in slot canyons and burn scars. - Kristen Van Dyke, KSL Weather 7.23.26
