Morning weather forecast for July 24, 2026

High pressure will bring two different things this weekend, high heat and monsoonal moisture. Temperatures will push into the triple digits for the next 4-5 days with hints of monsoon moisture showing up in the mountain tops as daily thunderstorm chances remain in play for central and southern Utah. For Pioneer Day in particular we will see some t-storms fire up in the northern mountains and a 20% chance to see an afternoon/evening t-storm in the valley. We'll repeat that on Saturday with triple digits holding through Sunday. Flash flood potential will be somewhat elevated in central and southern Utah, so keep an eye to the sky and avoid dry washes and slot canyons especially in the afternoon. - Matt Johnson, KSL Weather 7.24.26
