Morning weather forecast for July 17, 2026

As monsoon moisture continues to push north today and tomorrow, we'll see rain chances across the Wasatch Front increase slightly. A few showers and storms are possible across the Wasatch Front today if developing nearby mountain showers can actually drift overhead. Best chances are for Salt Lake, Utah and Tooele Counties. Again, not everyone will see a storm today or tomorrow, but the measurable rain for anyone will be a welcome sight! We're hopeful the Wasatch Front will see better rain chances Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Saturday will have slightly more storm coverage across central and southern Utah, but slightly less in northern Utah. Flash flood potential will remain elevated across southern Utah as we see wetter thunderstorms pop up in the same areas, near recent burn scars, and over slot canyons and normally dry washes. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 7.17.26
