High pressure will keep the door locked for any big storm systems through Friday, but by Saturday evening that door opens. The KSL Weather Team is tracking an Alaskan low that will drop into California this weekend. This storm system will draw in the remnant moisture of Hurricane Rachel in the eastern Pacific Ocean, as this moisture phases in with the low we will see good rain chances. One thing we are watching is the potential for heavier rain in southern and central Utah. Right now the highest risk for heavy rain looks like Sunday, though this timing could change as this storm system is still 4-5 days out. Matt Johnson - KSL Weather 10.7.26
