Morning weather forecast for October 9, 2026

Today will be comprised of partly cloudy skies, maybe even mostly cloudy at times, with a couple of mountain showers possible. Breezy winds pick up tomorrow with some scattered showers in the morning and evening, the afternoon has lower chances for rainfall. Tropical remnants of Rachel will interact with a low pressure system in Nevada Sunday and Monday - the exact track of Rachel will determine where the heaviest rain threat will be. Right now models have been oscillating back and forth between a more westerly track and a more easterly track. Even though the uncertainty in the track, we can still county on a heavy rain threat and maybe even a severe weather threat on the eastern flank of Rachels core circulation. The low pressure system to the west will keep rain chances in play through Wednesday with cooler air dropping snow levels to mid-mountain on Tuesday & Wednesday. Rainfall totals in general: valleys 1-2" and mountains 2-4". – Matt Johnson, KSL Weather 10.9.26
