Morning weather forecast for October 8, 2026

August-like weather will hold through Friday with highs in the 80s and dry skies in the valleys. A significant pattern change will begin to take place on Saturday as breezy winds pick up and a couple of showers will pop up. Post-tropical depression Rachel will be drawn up through the Baja of California and phase with an Alaskan low pressure system Sunday into Monday. In Utah this is a set-up that will bring widespread moderate to heavy rain across portions of Utah, the flash flood threat for central and southern Utah continues to increase for Sunday. Rain showers will likely stick around Monday, potentially Tuesday. By Wednesday the core of low pressure to our west will finally cross over Utah, this will produce more rain chances and lower snow levels. Matt Johnson – KSL Weather 10.8.26
