Evening forecast Aug 5, 2026

Smoke from the Pacific Northwest and local wildfires will continue to scour out the next few days across Utah, but concentrations will remain high for those closest to the Widemouth 2 Fire. High pressure will strengthen over the next few days and will bring very hot temperatures over the weekend - potentially record breaking at times. Some moisture will move into southern Utah tomorrow and will bring the chance for a dry thunderstorm each afternoon from Thursday through Saturday. Deeper monsoonal flow could become more established Sunday through early next week, so storms that do develop will have a better chance to produce some rainfall and potentially flash flooding. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 8.5.26
