Evening forecast July 31, 2026
We ended the month of July with 11 triple digit days, and it tied the second warmest July on record! Luckily, the monsoon delivered for a lot of places across Utah, especially up in the mountains. Unfortunately, there were a few spots that were not so lucky, like Cache Valley where some sites, like in Logan, only measured 0.01" of rain. SLC Airport measured 0.62" of precipitation, which is 127% of normal. The first week of August looks hot! Highs will peak Saturday with many locations seeing record temperatures, including Salt Lake City with a forecast high of 106 (current record high: 105 set back in 2020). St. George will be around 111 this weekend, which is 1 shy from tying the daily record high of 112. A trough passing to the north Sunday and Monday will send a weak cold front into northern Utah, dropping temperatures back closer to normal in the mid 90s early next week. Winds may pick up a bit Sunday and Monday afternoons because of this, and we could see an increase in wildfire smoke aloft. It looks likely that highs will creep back up around 100 degrees at the end of next week as some moisture tries to move back into southern Utah. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 7.31.26
