Some smoke aloft may linger overhead the next few days, but we aren't expecting degraded air quality. We will continue to dry out Friday with some clouds in the mountains and only a few showers or storms around the Uinta Mountains. With this drying trend will come a warming trend. Highs will return to the triple digits along the Wasatch Front from Friday through Sunday, with Saturday being the hottest day and potentially record tying or breaking in SLC. St. George will be around 111 degrees this weekend, which is 1 degree shy from tying the daily record high of 112 degrees. A trough passing to the north Sunday and Monday will send a weak cold front into northern Utah, dropping temperatures back closer to normal in the mid 90s early next week. It looks likely that highs will creep back up around 100 degrees at the end of next week as some moisture tries to move back into southern Utah. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 7.30.26
