High resolution models show some thinning of the wildfire smoke across northern Utah tomorrow, so we're hopeful to see at least some temporary improvements. High pressure will strengthen and push temperatures into the triple digits along the Wasatch Front for the weekend. Record heat will be possible in many spots Friday and Saturday. Some moisture will move into southern Utah and will bring the chance for a dry thunderstorm each afternoon through Saturday. Any shower or thunderstorm that develops over the next few days will pose a strong wind gust threat. Deeper monsoonal flow could become more established Sunday through early next week, so storms that do develop will have a better chance to produce some rainfall and potentially flash flooding.
