Morning weather forecast for August 5, 2026
Smoke from Pacific Northwest fires will continue to pour into northern Utah today, putting air quality indexes into the moderate/unhealthy ranges. High pressure will strengthen over the next few days and bring very hot temperatures over the weekend – potentially record breaking at times. With high pressure moving around a little bit late week, we could see some monsoon moisture sneak into the southern mountains as early as Thursday afternoon. Deeper monsoonal flow could become more established as we get into next week, mainly for the mountains. – Matt Johnson, KSL Weather 8.5.26
