Morning weather forecast for July 31, 2026

A little smoke, a little heat and a little dry this weekend. High pressure is the culprit for the tripled digits that we are expected Friday - Sunday, with Saturday being the hottest along the Wasatch Front. Wildfire smoke from Nevada and the Pacific Northwest will be wafting around the Intermountain West, so don't be alarmed if the skies turn a little hazy at times. A "cool-down" to the mid and upper 90s will move in early next week with more dry weather. Fire danger will also be high with this excessive heat over the weekend. - Matt Johnson, KSL Weather 7.31.26
