Evening forecast for Aug. 19, 2026

Highs will be around the triple digit mark the next couple of days as high pressure shifts over the Utah-Colorado border. This high will drive more moisture into the state, giving way to daily mountain thunderstorms Thursday through early next week. On Friday, there is a chance for scattered showers and storms across lower elevations in southwestern Utah, and an isolated chance from SLC south into central Utah. Over the weekend, we'll keep a 40% chance for showers/storms over the Wasatch Front with the best chance for those around the Oquirrh Mountains. It's worth noting that the precipitation chances over the weekend are more likely to go down than up for the Wasatch Front. Luckily, temperatures will drop into the low 90s for the rest of the 7-day forecast starting Saturday. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 8.19.26
